Istra, Croatia

On our way back to Belgium, we decided to sneak in about 10 days at a hub that friends were attending. It turned out that we actually knew 5 of the families attending the hub! It was also good to meet the hub organiser that we have been following on Facebook and communicating with for the past couple of years.

We stayed in a campground called Valamar in Funtana near the town of Porec. Most of the other families had their own vans, but we stayed in a glamping tent. It was fun, but it was very cold at night.

The campground was located on a penninsula and had several heated swimming pools and beaches.

It also had absolutely amazing sunsets!! Nearly every evening I stepped outside to take some photos of it.

And while we were there, we celebrated C’s 16th birthday! A person from the campground even stopped by on his birthday morning and gave him a gift and a voucher for a free mocktail.

We had a couple of potluck lunches by the beach, a couple of evening get-togethers, and a poker night for our last night. I agreed not to share any photos of people in the hub, so unfortunately I can’t post them here.

Up next: Belgium for a couple of weeks and then off to another continent…
