We based ourselves in the cute town of Maryborough while exploring the Goldfields region. This area is full of towns and cities that were part of the Victorian Gold Rush from the early to mid-1800s.
This is my fourth time visiting the Great Ocean Road (the first time for the kids) and I still find it thrilling and beautiful.
We really loved Mount Gambier. Due to all the past volcanic activity, it has a really unique and picturesque landscape.
From Mildura, we headed south to the town of Horsham. The town was lovely and the Grampians National Park was amazing!
Broken Hill is famous for its mining and where today’s largest mining company got started – BHP (initially stood for Broken Hill Proprietary). Broken Hill is so named because one of BHP’s founders thought that there were resources to be found on a hill that looked ‘broken’.
I was really excited to get back to Kangaroo Island – one of my favourite places in Australia!
