The eastern Kimberleys is a beautiful area that encompasses the towns of Kunnanurra and Wyndham among others, and is home to the iconic Gibb River Road and Purnululu (Bungle Bungles).
We spent about a month visiting the Top End including 3 National Parks. It was beautiful, but hot!
Now that we’ve been on the road for nearly 6 months, I thought I would do an assessment of my favourite (and least favourite) Caravan parks that we’ve stayed at.
This post is a merge of where we went just before Cobbold Gorge and the week following Cobbold Gorge.
Cobbold Gorge was one of the spots that wasn’t on our initial list of places to visit, but we heard from so many people how great it was that we decided to go.
After the Daintree, we worked our way down the coast to Cairns. On the way, we stopped at the beautiful resort town of Port Douglas.
After the Atherton Tablelands, we headed up north towards the world heritage listed Daintree.
The Atherton Tablelands is a beautiful area up the Great Dividing Range mountains from the coast. It is considered the food bowl of Australia.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Paronella Park, but so many people recommended it that we just had to go there. It didn’t disappoint. What a unique place!
