After the Daintree, we worked our way down the coast to Cairns. On the way, we stopped at the beautiful resort town of Port Douglas.

After the Atherton Tablelands, we headed up north towards the world heritage listed Daintree.
The Atherton Tablelands is a beautiful area up the Great Dividing Range mountains from the coast. It is considered the food bowl of Australia.
My son’s view on an old castle created in 1935 called Paronella Park.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from Paronella Park, but so many people recommended it that we just had to go there. It didn’t disappoint. What a unique place!
The next leg of our trip was marred with rain. It rained for about 3 weeks straight with only occasional breaks. We stayed in the van most of the time, but we did venture out a couple of times.

We decided to spoil ourselves during this section of the trip for our birthdays. We did a 2-day sailing trip and a wreck dive that we missed last time.
Eungella National Park was recommended to us – a gorgeous gorge walk, a stunning view and platypuses!
