Evora and Algarve – Portugal

After Lisbon, we started to head south. We spent a day exploring Evora and 3 days in the Algarve area enjoying the sunshine and beaches.

Evora

Evora was a really cool town and I wish we had more time to explore it. It had everything from a Roman temple, to a very old church where you can walk on the roof, to a catacombs. The town was also full of restaurants, cafes and boutique stores.

Algarve

This area of Portugal is many people’s favourite. I was here once before 25 years ago so I was keen to see it again and explore more of the region.

We stayed in a small town near Albufeira in a complex with a swimming pool (although it was too cold to swim for more than 5 minutes!). Our local beach was Falesia:

We took a few day trips to do some coastal drives and explore some of the towns. We spent some time in Lagos:

And in the town of Tavira:

Up next, Andalucia Spain.
