Hurghada

The driver from Luxor to Hurghada was beautiful. Through the desert – from sand dunes through mountains.

We spent 5 nights in Hurghada. We decided to surprise the kids and we splashed out on an all-inclusive hotel with an Aqua Park. To our delight, we discovered that alcohol and cocktails were also included! 🎉

Titanic Aqua Park

It was called the Titanic Aqua Park. It was shaped like a boat and had posters from the Titanic movie all around.

The kids played all day on the water slides or at the various activities. We then had pre-dinner cocktails, followed by dinner, and then went to the after-dinner shows.

One afternoon, we decided to take the free shuttle over to the sister hotel on the beach, but it was so windy that we ended up only staying for an hour.

Scuba Diving

We took a day trip out to scuba dive and swim with dolphins. Unfortunately, no dolphins were to be found. And the water was so cold that even though we were wearing full length wetsuits, we cut the dive short and K and I decided not to go on the second dive. So, R wore my wetsuit over his so he could manage the second dive.

Tsunami

But the star of our time in Hurghada was definitely the waterslides. Our favourite slide was the Tsunami.

After Hurghada, we took a van back to Cairo and spent the night at an apartment near the airport, and then the next day we flew to Belgium.
