Jodhpur is known as the Blue City. (So far we’ve had Jaipur – the Amber City and Udaipur – the White City).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jodhpur is dominated by an amazing fort on a hill overlooking the city. We stayed in another 250 year old haveli in the old town. This time though, it was a hotel and not an apartment. The hotel had a lot of nice touches and from the rooftop restaurant, we had a great view of the fort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fort<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The fort was huge and had a lot of nice nooks and crannies to explore. Unfortunately, the ticket price for the palace part of the fort was very expensive so we didn’t go in, although the photos look cool. \ud83d\ude12<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Old Town<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We walked around the old town and although there are some interesting buildings and the blue paint added something special, there just wasn’t a great atmosphere in this town and it really felt like it was missing that X factor. This was our least favourite city so far in India. If anyone were to ask me about a recommendation for this town, I would suggest either skipping it or going in for 1-2 hours to see the fort and then move on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After 3 nights in Jodhpur, we were ready to move on. Next stop, a desert camp outside of Jaisalmer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cow count on this leg of the trip: 1333 cows and 29 camels! \ud83d\ude32 The number keeps getting higher! We thought it might be less on this leg because we are heading further into the desert and it’s getting drier and drier…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
